Jürg Straumann
Jürg Straumann's (*1952) working method is characterized by an intense engagement with the artistic means through which he creates complex visual narratives. His works often reflect themes such as identity and openness, individual and society, and the subjective handling of cultural heritage. From the year 2000 onwards, Straumann began the development of the impressive project Panoptikum and the digital work archive as a basis for multimedia applications, thereby expanding his artistic work in new, fascinating directions and engaging with the possibilities of digital media. The artist's works are exhibited in various solo and group exhibitions, and he has received awards such as the Louise Aeschlimann Scholarship (1981) and a work year at the Swiss Institute in Rome (1988/89).
