Sibel Kocakaya (*1986, İstanbul) is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Bern and Basel. Her practice focuses on redefining relationships between space and body while challenging the viewer with elements of material, form, colour and light. Sibel Kocakaya employs a vast array of artistic media to create her works such as performances, installations, photography, collages, videoart as well as paintings. Kocakaya holds an MA in Fine Arts from the Zürich University of Applied Arts (ZHdK), an MA in Painting from the Department of Fine Arts of the Marmara University in İstanbul with an exchange programme at ENSBA-Lyon as well as a BA in Photography from the Department of Fine Arts of the Marmara University.
