Lena Maria Thüring
Lena Maria Thüring graduated from Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in 2014 and has a teaching position at the Institut Kunst at FHNW in Basel since then. At the center of her artistic practice is her interest in socio-political conditions and their effects on society. Thüring uses various media such as video, sound, photography, performance or installation to question social systems and their underlying structures. The spoken word is the most important medium in which she examines processes of history production and analyzes issues of linguistic articulation, collective and personal memories, social structures, gender and identity.
