Annaïk Lou Pitteloud
Annaïk Lou Pitteloud’s work is mostly based on photography and video, and turns around the notions of documentation and fiction. These both concepts are constantly put in tension. In certain cases she creates staged photographical images taking the appearance of documentaries, in other cases she presents documentary elements as fictions. This always mobile point of fiction allows observing the viewing regime attached to reality mimetic media such as photography or video, and questioning the expectations of objectivity traditionnally linked to them. Annaïk Lou Pitteloud uses these techniques to analyse cultural or social phenomena. She plays with the limit between banality and catastrophy, between everyday triviality and historical interest.
